Participates in 1 Session

Technology entrepreneur Grant Dexter has been at the forefront of conceptualizing, architecting, and implementing innovative new technology that has helped stakeholders and partners create revenue, strengthen engagement opportunities and expand meaningful relationships with their customers and fans for nearly 20 years.

In 1999, Grant left PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) Global SAP team and co-founded MapleMusic, a multi-award-winning digital music company and e-commerce hub. With a $5M equity investment from Universal Music, Standard Broadcasting and VCs, Grant used his technology-centric business ethos to build the company into one of the most influential music/tech entities focusing on e-commerce, online ticketing and viral marketing campaigns working directly with everyone from Radiohead to DJ Tiesto. He co-founded Fontana North distribution in partnership with Fontana and Universal Music, and co-founded country music powerhouse Open Road Recordings--the Canadian home to Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line, and more.

Soon after, Grant oversaw the purchase of fledgling online ticketing company TicketBreak and transformed it into an app and mobile-based ticketing platform that serviced festivals, casinos, sports teams and venues, before eventually being sold to Eventbrite.

Grant is currently co-founder and CEO of Fanaply, which creates limited-edition, authentic digital collectibles for the world’s biggest fans in sports, music and entertainment powered by blockchain technology. Fanaply was accepted into and recently completed the prestigious Techstars LA’s music program in the spring of 2020. Fanaply is working with everyone from Coachella to Universal to Ticketmaster and E-One, and will be announcing several sports partnerships in the coming weeks. Grant lives in Toronto with his wife and three sons.
