Laura Tomlin teaches 6th grade science at Salado Junior High in Salado, Texas. She has a B.S. from Texas Tech University and an M.S. from North Carolina State University. It is her goal to enhance the STEM program at Salado ISD through space education.  In 2018 Laura worked with math teacher Colleen Gilchrest on a "Year in Space" curriculum for students at Salado Intermediate School, highlighted by an ARISS contact with Astronaut Scott Tingle. Laura organizes a fall STEM Day and spring Science and Engineering Fair at Salado Junior High each year. She has participated in NASA's Network of States (2017) as well as LiftOff Summer Institute (2018) and LiftOff Alumni (2019).
