Presentation Description: Prior to Skylab, Mir and the ISS, was the Manned Orbiting Laboratory (MOL). This partially classified program under the US Air Force ran from 1963 to its cancellation in 1969. Despite never having flown, MOL provided pilots, food systems, computers and more to Skylab and the Space Shuttle programs--contributions far beyond its brief lifespan. See what it would have been like to fly a MOL mission through the art of Neil Jacobe, a McDonnell Douglas illustrator. Join SCH Scientist in Residence Dr. John Charles for a glimpse into this often overlooked program.
