I have worked in education for over 17 years, starting with my home daycare. After receiving my teaching certification I taught kindergarten for 4 years, and that is when I went through the NASA Oklahoma Space Grant education program. The program turned me on to all things STEM, and after seeing me teach kindergarten students about STEM I was asked to teach all the students in my school, Pr-K through 5th grade STEM lessons as a rotation. After doing that for 3 years I was asked to move up and start training teachers to use technology in our district, this was my chance to work on my main goal which was to bring STEM to all schools in my district. I am now MakerSpace/Technology Coordinator for Lawton Public schools, and proud to say all 18 of our elementary schools have STEM classes.
I received my Masters's Degree from Oklahoma State University this last year in Educational Technology and have also been an active Solar System Ambassador since 2016.
My passion is STEM, and I love teaching and learning.
