A current member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Spokane Shuttlebirds Tatting Guild, and the International Organization of Lace, Kathleen Minniti is a disabled veteran who spends her time making lace, designing and sewing period clothing, and caring for her cats.  Kathleen taught herself to tat at the age of 12 from an antique book found in the local library the same year she was introduced to Piers Anthony's Xanth series and fell in love with science fiction.  Lady Kathleen, created in 1998, was fostered to a well-reputed Venetian dressmaker in the late 1500's and has since established her own household with a focus on lacemaking and other fine needlework. Another period of interest is the Victorian Era, especially in the Pacific Northwest.  The combination of lacemaking, sewing, and cats has yielded numerous opportunities to practice tying and untying lots of tangled threads - hence the self-styled "Mistress of Knots."  You might say, "Have knots?  Will unravel!"
