I have been playing with fabric most of my life and sewing almost as long.  Spent 25 years working in a fabric store.  Sewed my first project by myself, calling my mother at work and asking her if I could use some fabric and patterns.  Had modified, cutout, and almost finished by the time she got home.  Love learning about and making historic and fantasy garments.  Also do most kinds of handwork, including knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning and embroidery.  Proponent of pattern “kit bashing.”
