How:
Some non-urban regions of Australia seem like the apocalypse has already arrived. (Ever driven through a small wheatbelt town on a Sunday afternoon?) Is this why Australian sf writers like to end the world out in the red dirt and heat? Is it the travel distance between Australia and much of the rest of the world that makes us feel like we are at the end of times? The panellists tackle these questions, and discuss the options for fictionally ruining the world in outback Australia.
