Satima Flavell's workshop deals with the most common mistakes of first-time writers
(and sadly, sometimes second or third time writers too!) Over many
years of critiquing, reviewing and editing, Satima has come to realise that
there are six problems common to all new fiction writers. New writers don’t
all have all six, of course (although some do!) but almost all show at
least three. Paticipants need to bring a scene from a recent work - a bit they would be proud to read aloud OR that they know isn't working and needs a rethink. Anything between 400-600 words will be fine.
