How:
Anime director Isao Takahata died in 2018, leaving behind a creative legacy of 12 films made between 1968 and 2013. With much of his output coming via the acclaimed Studio Ghibli, and with films ranging from Grave of the Fireflies to My Neighbors the Yamadas and The Tale of Princess Kaguya, he was often over-shadowed by fellow director Hayao Miyazaki. Despite this he left behind one of the most varied ranges of films of any director –- animated or otherwise. This appreciation-based panel takes us through the best.
