As readers of science fiction we may love all of the tales of faster-than-light travel, hyperspace, anti-gravity, laser guns, time travel, and other genre traditions. How many of them, however, are actually possible? Science fiction may be great for imaginative exploration of scientific ideas, but what is possible and what is almost certainly impossible? How much will science actually let our imagination down?
