TL;DR
Not-A-Con is on for one day, 30th of April 2022, at Tuart Hill SCC. There's a Photography Competition! Swancon has a Containers for Change Code c10505668 . Join us for the monthly Watch2Gether on the 3rd Saturday evening of the month. You can find everything you need to know here: https://swancon.com.au/ Covid19-wise you'll need proof of double vaccination if you're over 12 and you'll need to wear a mask properly. Kids memberships available.
WASFF COVID-19 Policy
You will be aware that WA is relaxing its rules on Friday. However, the WASFF board and Not-A-Con have already committed to imposing requirements on in-person attendees at Not-A-Con 2022 which may be over and above the requirements of state and/or federal governments, and our members have bought tickets on that basis. We are aware that our community contains a number of health-compromised people, so this is an issue of great importance to us.
1. Proof of at least double vaccination or vaccination exemption to be provided
2. Masks worn according to best practice
Firstly, we require that all in-person attendees over the age of 12 present proof of at least double vaccination or of exemption from vaccination. Mostly we expect attendees to present that upon arriving, but attendees may send us proof in advance. The WA government lists acceptable forms of proof here: https://www.wa.gov.au/government/covid-19-coronavirus/covid-19-coronavirus-getting-proof-of-covid-19-vaccinations . If you’re unable to provide any of these forms, please talk to us ahead of time and we’ll see what we can work out.
Secondly, we require that masks be worn, and that they cover the mouth and nose. We will have some masks available at the venue. If this is problematic for you (for example because of other health issues), please talk to us ahead of time.
We had planned to run a QR-code check-in, but we are now confident that this will not help minimise risk. Instead, if attendees let us know after the fact that they may have been positive, we will let all attendees know of anonymised positive cases via email and social media.
If any of this is problematic for you and we can’t help you solve your problems, we will give you a full refund, either in the lead-up to the event, or on the day. (For on-the-day refunds please allow a few days for processing to occur and your refund to reach your bank account.)
If you find you are sick either leading up to or on the day of the event we ask you not to distribute your sickness to others. Contact us as early as is practical and we will give you a refund.
Of course, state or federal governments might impose restrictions which are different from or greater than the rules we outline here. We will follow any such rules.
Not-A-Con is a private event, and as always, we reserve the right to eject anyone at any time for any reason. In this circumstance we may or may not give a refund.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please allow some extra time for check-in at the registration desk as we process entry and check proof of vaccination.
We thank you all for your understanding in regards to this matter and again thank you for your support.

Watch2Gether with Rob and Leece
Get together virtually with Rob and Leece and view some old, some classic, some terrible (usually alleviated by Mystery Science Theatre 3000) F&SF movies. There will be some cool music videos, some interesting animated shorts and typically some more adult content after around about 9pm. April will be your last chance to see the Not-A-Con opening video before the actual Not-A-Con! The watch together happens on the 3rd Saturday evening of each month. April Watch2Gether Link
Not-A-Con will be held on Whadjuk Nyoongar boodjar, and we acknowledge their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region. We give our respect to the Elders, past, present and emerging and are thankful for their knowledge. Baalap moorditj yorga wer maaman
