Kids cartoons (that make Florida angry)
Modern kids cartoons stick to the rules in some ways, for example, in avoiding overt realistic violence, but can address topics like gender and sexual identity, minority representation and racial politics, colonialism and cultural appropriation, and other topics that would definitely upset some conservative politicians (if they notice them at all, which fandom definitely has). From Steven Universe, She-Ra, to recent Disney animated films like Encanto or Turning Red, it is a huge trend in childrens animation. Is a trend unique to modern childrens animation, is it as politically challenging as some would claim, is it something adults notice more than children?
