Can science fiction save the environment? With global warming on the rise, eco- and climate-fiction is a growing subgenre of speculative fiction that envisions both the most dystopian outcomes imaginable and viable alternatives to our current ways of inhabiting the planet. What can speculative fiction bring to discussions of environmentalism and the creation of sustainable societies? What can an ecocritical perspective bring to the reading of speculative fiction? The panel also discusses examples of eco-SF.
