Kostiantyn Iakovliev is an English-Russian consecutive interpreter, translator, and trainer with a wide experience ranging from contracts and manuals to scientific papers and travel guides, but he mainly specializes in audiovisual translation for voice-over, dubbing, and most of all subtitle creation, translation, and quality assurance covering various genres from ads and documentaries to animation and fiction. As a Russian School of Audiovisual Translation alumnus he presented at several conferences in Russia (Audiovisual Translation in Russia and the world, St. Petersburg, 2016) and Poland (Intermedia, Łódź, 2016, Points of View, Kraków, 2017), instructed at Russian School of Audiovisual Translation's 2016 Summer School and also hosted webinars on subtitling technology and art of translating for various genres and topics as well as on SDH and AD principles. His work can be seen on Netflix as well as Russian versions of such channels as Fox, Fox Life, TLC, National Geographic, History, H2, Extreme Sports, and Nickelodeon amidst others. One of major Kostiantyn’s interests is bringing theory to practice in most productive ways by introducing changes to project management flow and application of various tools. Among one of his recent achievements is winning a Russian dictation contest that contributed to raising the issue of improving a linguistic side of subtitles in conjunctions with respecting technical based on personal findings and case studies.
