Retired from a 40+ year career in Information Technology, Edie Stern contributed in areas as diverse as: integrating the internet and the telephone network to leveraging technology to allow the elderly to stay in their homes longer. She has more than 190 issued US patents, and is an IBM Distinguished Engineer, Edie was the 2012 recipient of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ Kate Gleason Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Edie has been an avid science fiction fan for more than 45 years and is a recipient of the 2016 Big Heart Award. She is the webmaster for FANAC.org, the Fan History project. She started the Fan History YouTube channel, youtube.com/c/FanacFanhistory, with gems of audio and video from our fannish past. She has edited and written for fanzines, and worked dozens of conventions from program to exhibits as well as chairing. In the last ten years, along with her husband Joe Siclari, she has put together art exhibits for conventions, showcasing historical science fiction and fantasy art. She loves and collects SF&F books and their cover art, and enthusiastically engages in yoga, spinning and knitting.
