Brad Templeton is a technologist, professional futurist and public speaker, civil rights advocate, SF Publisher (reformed), entrepreneur and writer and most recently, consultant on self-driving cars. 

He founded the world's first dot-com company in 1989 and was also well known for rec.humor.funny.  He is Chairman Emeritus of the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and a director of the Foresight Institute.  He is founding faculty at Singularity University and chair of computing.   He publishes robocars.com and was a member of Google's early self-driving car team, and works with other startups in the space, such as Starship Technologies (delivery robots).
