
Alec Nevala-Lee graduated from Harvard College with a bachelor's degree in classics. His book Astounding: John W. Campbell, Isaac Asimov, Robert A. Heinlein, L. Ron Hubbard, and the Golden Age of Science Fiction will be released on October 23 by Dey Street Books, an imprint of HarperCollins. Alec is the author of three suspense novels from Penguin, and has published short stories in Analog, Lightspeed, and The Year's Best Science Fiction. Alec's non- fiction and reviews—primarily on pop culture—have appeared in such publications as the Los Angeles Times, The Daily Beast, Salon, Longreads, The Rumpus, and the San Francisco Bay Guardian. He blogs daily at www.nevalalee.com. He's given academic presentations on the history of science fiction at the Campbell Conference and the Grappling With the Futures symposium at Harvard University.
