Jason Bourget

Jason Bourget is regular faculty in the English Department at Douglas College in New Westminster, British Columbia. His PhD, from Queen’s University, focused specifically on the relationship between masculinity and political ideology in 1960s and 1970s American science fiction. To date, he has presented papers on the work of Ursula K. Le Guin, Philip K. Dick, and Samuel R. Delany at a variety of conferences, including the academic tracks of both the 2009 Montréal and 2014 London Worldcons. He published, in Foundation, an article about the relationship between masculinity and libertarianism in Heinlein’s The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. In addition to his contributions to the academic study of science fiction, he is an active participant in fandom in the Pacific Northwest and has been a regular panelist both at VCON in Vancouver and at Norwescon in Seattle.
