Bradford Lyau has his MA and PhD in History  from the University of Chicago. He authored a well-received academic book on French SF of the 1950s, and has published academic articles about SF from around the world for over 30 years. He has also been a panelist and moderator at SF conventions for over 30 years, is an affiliate member of SFWA, and has collected comics for over 40 years.

His interests are eclectic, and include the history of SF (American, British, French, Europe, China, and several other countries), classic SF (both genre and mainstream), history of SF magazines (1926 to 1970), history of SF fandom, ideology and philosophy in SF, religion in SF, politics in SF, politics in general, diversity themes in SF and fandom, classic SF films, and traveling around the world to meet fellow fans.
