Iris Ralph is an Associate Professor in the English Department of Tamkang University. She holds a B.Sc. (Monash University), a B.A. (English) (San Francisco State University), an M.A. (English) and Ph.D. (English) (The University of Texas at Austin) and a Grad. Dip. in TESOL & Literacy (Victoria University). Dr. Ralph’s areas of specialty are Australian, English, and American Literature; ecocriticism; animal studies; and posthumanism. Her publications include book chapters in the following anthologies: Doing English in Asia (published by Lexington), Ecocriticism in Taiwan (published by Lexington), and Ted Hughes (published by Palgrave Macmillan). Other publications include journal articles in Neohelicon; AJE: Australasian Journal of Ecocriticism and Cultural Ecology; Tamkang Review; William Carlos Williams Review; Cowrie; CLCWeb: Comparative Literature and Culture; and Journal of Ecocriticism. Currently, Dr. Ralph’s current project is a monograph on animal and plant representation in Australian literature.
