Educated at Stanford (A.B. Human Biology, A.M. Ethics, English ABT), Stanford Medical School, (MD) and UCBerkeley (PhD), Ina Roy-Faderman teaches biomedical ethics and philosophy of biology at Oregon State University. She also serves as an associate fiction editor for Rivet Journal and the librarian for a school for gifted children. Her academic interests and publications center around the biological, ethical, and personal relationships between human- and non-human animals in fictional and non-fictional contexts. She also publishes short speculative pieces that pass themselves off as literary fiction and poetry that can be found in Right Hand Pointing and The Medical Literary Messenger, among others. She’s planning on getting some sleep real soon now.
