Catherine Asaro writes science fiction, fantasy, and sf mysteries. She has won numerous awards, including the Nebula® forThe Quantum Rose"The Space-time Pool,” as well as several Hugo nominations. Her latest book, The Bronze Skies, came out in September 2017, with the mmp due in Deember 2018. It is a stand alone Major Bhaajan mystery, part of the Ruby Dynasty universe. Her Ruby Dynasty story “The Wages of Honor” was included in the October 2017 anthology Infinite Stars: Definitive Space Opera and Military Science Fiction, and her novella, “Walk in Silence,” appeared in the 2017 anthology Catalysts, Explorers & Secret Keepers:Women of Science Fiction.

Catherine earned her doctorate in theoretical chemical physics from Harvard. She is known for her advocacy in bringing girls and women into STEM fields, and for challenging gender stereotypes and sex roles in her fiction. She currently directs the Chesapeake Math Program and has coached numerous mathletes, such as teams for competitions at Harvard-MIT, Princeton, and Johns Hopkins, as well as individual students in many contests, including the USA Mathematical Olympiad and National Mathcounts. She is also a member of SIGMA, a think tank of speculative writers that advises the government on future trends affecting national security.
