Stephanie Burgis grew up in East Lansing, Michigan, but now lives in Wales with her husband and two sons, surrounded by mountains, castles and coffee shops. She writes fun MG fantasy adventures and wildly romantic adult historical fantasies. Her MG novel The Dragon with a Chocolate Heart (published by Bloomsbury Children's Books) won the Cybils Award for Elementary/Middle Grade Speculative Fiction 2017 and was a finalist in both the Locus and Mythopoeic Awards. Her series of romantic fantasy novellas for adults, The Harwood Spellbook, is already available in ebook and paperback and will be republished by Tantor Books this spring and summer in audiobook editions narrated by Emma Newman. 


Her most recent publication for adults is the romantic fantasy novella Thornbound: Volume II of The Harwood Spellbook; her most recent publication for MG readers is the novel The Girl with the Dragon Heart. The f/sf anthology that Stephanie co-edited with Tiffany Trent, The Underwater Ballroom Society, has been longlisted for the 2019 Locus Award for Best Original Anthology. She has also published nearly forty short stories for adults and teens in various magazines and anthologies.
