Lynn is the very proud mother of a beautiful daughter, a wife, and an educator! Her daughter’s favorite thing she has learned from her mother is that astronauts really do wear diapers in Space!!!
She was born and raised in Columbia, Missouri, and attended the University of Missouri, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2000. During her Mizzou S.C.U.B.A. Theory Science class, she was presented with an opportunity to teach Marine Science in the Florida Keys at Seacamp. After three years of Keys living, Lynn decided to return to school at the University of Florida, graduating with her Master’s in Secondary Science Education in 2005. In 2005, Lynn landed her first teaching job in Brevard at a Montessori School and continued teaching science at various levels in both private and public Brevard County Schools. During the summers Lynn worked at the Brevard Zoo as an Earth Explorer camp counselor and with Brevard Schools developing scope and sequence science curriculum and served on the textbook adoption committee. In 2010, Lynn was awarded the Exemplary Science Teacher of Brevard County and was sent to Space Camp for Educators in Huntsville, Alabama. Her passion for teaching both students and teachers, her experiences on the Space Coast, and Space Camp ultimately led to her job with NASA’s Exploration Station. Lynn has worked 12 years as an Education Specialist at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center first at the Exploration Station operated by the Astronauts Memorial Foundation and currently an Education Specialist/Coordinator II with AETOS/GoH, NASA Next Generation STEM Program.
