Daniel Yezbick has worked as a screenwriter, sheep wrangler, film festival judge, and intergalactic bartender. He is currently Professor of English and Communications at Wildwood College outside of St. Louis, MO, where he teaches media, literature, and writing courses. He also serves as Adjunct Professor for Webster University’s School of Communications and American Public University/American Military University’s professional and technical writing program. He has lectured and published on diverse topics including interdisciplinary Science Fiction, Comics History, Animal and Anthropocene Studies, Hollywood Cinema, Radio Drama, and Globalized Shakespeare. His retrospective celebration of the American children’s artist, George Carlson, PERFECT NONSENSE, was released in 2014 from Fantagraphics Books and his recent essays on media and culture have appeared in a variety of journals and anthologies including THE BLACKER THE INK, THE OTHER 1980S, MONSTROUS WOMEN IN COMICS, THE OXFORD HANDBOOK OF COMICS STUIDES, and THE PALGRAVE HANDBOOK OF THE VAMPIRE. He lives happily in South City St Louis with Sarah Burk “The Clarinet Doctor,” his quirky teenage offspring, and two idiot rescue mutts.
