Walt Jaschek
Walt is a St. Louis-based author and comics writer on a mission to "entertain the world with smart fun."
His newest markers on that mission: this summer’s drops of original, comic content starring HEROBOTS (for young adults;) KNOW PATROL (for grade schoolers;) and RECYCLED MAN (for mature readers.) Copies will be copious at ARCHON.
Walt’s non-fiction book, THE DENNY O’NEIL TAPES: A CONVERSATION ABOUT COMICS, CULTURE AND AMERICA (Amazon, 2023,) a tribute to the late DC and Marvel comics writer from St. Louis, will also be on hand. Its main feature is a long interview Walt and a group of fans conducted with the Batman and Green Lantern scribe in 1971 — when Walt was 15.
(That storied group of fan was GRAFAN, the Graphic Fantasy Society of St. Louis, launchpad for many local creators and enthusiasts who later fused with the ARCHON-verse.)
Blissfully retired as a copywriter in the ad biz, Walt was inducted in 2018 into the St. Louis Media Foundation Hall of Fame. He is psyched to launch his entertainment brand, COMICMOOD, and return to the fun of fandom.
