Is Star Trek still a leader in tackling social issues, or are the newer shows just keeping up with, or even trailing, current trends?  

Why do they insist on making us sit through the credits? Is there a point or is it just 'the way we've always done it?' Which extra scenes do we think were worth it?

A lot of classic works from the Golden Age of Science Fiction are less than acceptable to current readers, either because of the writing itself or our knowledge of the authors' personal failings. Is it possible to enjoy the work for what it was at the time or are some things unforgivable?
