Mark arrived on Earth from an undisclosed location in 1954 and has been absorbing the culture, history, politics, and ephemera of his new home ever since. In 1990, he began publishing some of his observations (cleverly disguised as science fiction stories) and has subsequently published 12 books, over 60 short stories, and found himself involved in a number of curious, fascinating, and unlikely endeavors (including a stint as president of the Missouri Center for the Book). He creates photographs, occasionally makes music, and continues trying to make sense of things. His partner, Donna, has been both guide and collaborator on the journey. Presently, he works for Left Bank Books, in St. Louis, an ideal location from which to observe. He looks forward to the next amazing thing.
