Farshad Amini
Greeting,
I am a PhD candidate at the Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. With a background in general management, I have a keen interest in exploring social inclusion, diversity, and community empowerment.
My current research utilizes participatory action research (PAR) and Backcasting frameworks to address social exclusion and discrimination in diverse communities. I aim to advance the collective understanding of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-discrimination (EDI-AD) through collaborative approaches grounded in local knowledge and agency. My extensive fieldwork in Talesh, Iran, particularly in the community of Siabil, explores the intersection of place, identity, and well-being. The research findings emphasize the significance of embracing local sovereignty and autonomy as catalysts for fostering inclusivity and resilience within diverse communities.
I am committed to bridging theory and practice, leveraging my research insights to inform policy and community development initiatives. I am passionate about promoting dialogue and collaboration among diverse stakeholders to create positive social change.
