Workshop description:
This workshop acknowledges the pivotal role of the literature review in scientific research at large and its specific significance in doctoral preparation. In the first segment, participants will gain insight into different categories of literature reviews, understanding the key characteristics that distinguish each type, and becoming familiar with their primary advantages and challenges. The second part of the workshop will elucidate the essential steps involved in the literature review process while scrutinizing the criteria that render a standalone review article credible and reliable. The workshop will also delve into the utilization of AI tools in conducting review projects.
Presenter: Guy Paré
Dr. Guy Paré is the Director of the Ph.D. in Administration program and a Professor of Information Technology at HEC Montréal. Since 2014, he has held the Research Chair in Digital Health at the same institution. Dr. Paré's research has been featured in top-tier scientific journals and showcased at numerous international and national conferences.
His expertise in the field of digital health has made him a sought-after authority for various organizations, including the World Health Organization, the Department of Health in France, Canada Health Infoway, and the Québec Ministry of Health and Social Services. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to academia, Dr. Paré was honored as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2012 and, more recently, as a Fellow of the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics in 2023.
