Kate Monahan is a PhD student in the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada). She holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Virginia, a Bachelor of Arts in French Literature, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance both from Boston College.

She teaches business courses in the Outdoor Adventure, Outdoor Adventure Naturalist, and Business diploma programs at Algonquin College’s Pembroke campus.

Kate’s research interests include entrepreneurial identity construction, embodied sensemaking, and power. Her work has appeared in the proceedings of the Adventure Risk Research Symposium, part of the Wilderness Risk Management Conference.
