Truzaar Dordi is a doctoral candidate in Sustainability Management at the University of Waterloo, working in the fields of climate finance, energy policy, and risk management. His research examines financial system stability along a low-carbon transition, which is necessary for safeguarding societal welfare against the high costs of inaction.
Truzaar holds a Masters in Sustainability Management from the University of Waterloo where his research examined the burgeoning fossil-fuel divestment movement. Since then, Truzaar has worked on policy recommendations for a national climate finance strategy, supply-side climate policy, negotiations around Canadian pipelines, heterogeneity of green finance standards, stranded assets from low-carbon transitions, the politics and finance of carbon budgets, and on flood risk governance.
Truzaar currently serves as the Vice President Communication for the Canadian Society for Ecological Economics and as a member and lead author for the University of Waterloo's Responsible Investing Advisory Group.
His research has been published in the Journal of Sustainable Finance and Investment, Climatic Change, SAGE Business Case, Regional Environmental Change, and MDPI Sustainability. He actively reviews for the Journal of Sustainable Finance and Investment, Energy Research and Social Science, Business Society and Environment, and Regional Change.
