Indigenizing Business Schools Colloquium 2025 Presents:

Lessons of the Past, Opportunities for the Future.

At this full day immersive colloquium, we will learn more about Indigenous economic development corporations, Indigenous sustainable innovation, trends in Indigenous business research, and the Indigenous Doctoral Students' experience. Presenters include: Matt Jamieson (CEO, Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corp.); Julie Wriston (Nutrien); scholars Bob Anderson, Tasha Brooks, Leo-Paul Dana, Michael Mihalicz, Jody-Lynn Rebek, Emily Salmon; and more!

We will also introduce the exciting new partnership between ASAC and Luminary to advance collaborative research among Indigenous businesses and business schools. Kelly Lendsay and Terri Lynn Morrison from Luminary and ASAC President Andre Laplume will provide an overview of this partnership.

Directly linked to last year’s theme of making business schools more hospitable to Indigenous researchers, we will hear about the experiences of Indigenous doctoral students. This will all be framed within an overview of the evolution of Indigenous business research, both locally and globally.

Editorial board members from the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences special issue on Indigenous Businesses and Sustainability and the Journal of Aboriginal Economic Development will also make short presentations about publishing opportunities.

An extensive continental breakfast, a leisurely lunch, two breaks, scheduled reflection and discussion sessions, and a concluding reception will give attendees the opportunity to renew and build relationships within the community of scholars helping to Indigenize business schools.
