Ria Sabitry

Brief Bio-Introduction 

My name is Ria Sabitry. I am doing a major in Accounting and a concentration in Finance at the University of New Brunswick (SJ & F). I am privileged to be on the Dean's List position at the university. Some of my major skills include- effective decision-making, excellent written/oral communication skills, a strong positive attitude towards teamwork, managing multiple tasks/projects, proficiency in operating excel, meticulous attention to details, analytical and problem-solving, ability to work effectively, and punctuality in meeting deadlines.

Accomplishments & Extracurricular activities 

I have been involved at the university to get more experience in extra-curricular activities and elected as the President of the Multi-cultural Association & International Student Councilor, and Chief Returning Officer of the Student Representative Council (SRC) at UNB SJ. I have also served the community with a vision to improve the benefits and opportunities for newcomers and international students. I have been nominated as the "Women in Business" by the Business Society and as the "Youth Diversity Leader" by Prude Inc. I am an active member of Stay & Grow Inc, the Newcomers Advisory Panel (NAP), the Union of Youth Newcomers (UYNSJ), and more. I am also a council member at Saint John Local Immigration Partnership (LIP), which is a non-profit organization. I am privileged to be a lifetime member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, which is given to high achieving students (top 15%). I have also participated in accounting & marketing case competitions and debates to challenge myself with the skills that I have learned. These qualifications show that I am a highly motivated person who can take over several roles and take upon responsibilities & my expertise with working in diverse communities makes my views unique.

ASAC Conference Expectations 

It is a huge opportunity for me to be able to attend this conference because many influential leaders will be speaking as keynote speakers. I'm excited to learn new things and make new connections at this conference.
