In this session Dr. Jamie Gruman will discuss his book 'Boost: The Science of Recharging Yourself in an Age of Unrelenting Demands', which builds on the literature on recovery and focuses on how we can get back to our best by flipping our downtime into ‘Uptime’ to most successfully recharge our batteries and return to work happier, healthier, and more productive. He will present his ReNU model, which synthesizes the research behind Boosting, and will discuss specific activities we can implement to reduce our stress levels and enhance our performance. He will also discuss his experience giving talks on this topic and some outstanding research questions that warrant attention. The session will be of interest to those looking for tips on how to use their leisure time to most effectively recover from daily demands, in addition to those interested in research on this topic.
