Marjory Kaptanoglu is a former Apple engineer who programmed the text-editing software for the first color Macintosh. Turning to screenwriting, she wrote numerous award-winning feature-length and short scripts. Six of her shorts were produced and screened at international film festivals. In 2017, she began writing novels, and her debut, a young adult fantasy titled Dreadmarrow Thief, won the silver medal in the SPR Book Awards and the bronze in the Wishing Shelf Book Awards. She now has two more published novels: Last Girl Standing (YA sci-fi) and Invader (sci-fi), newly released on May 1, 2019. She earned her BA in English from Stanford University and has appeared as a speaker, panelist, and contest judge at schools, writing conventions, and film festivals.
