Derek has covered comics, movies, and TV for over 20 years, through his site Fanboy Planet and many others. An actor, writer, and teacher, Derek co-wrote The Greatest American Hero comic book revival, and edited and wrote for Mark Hamill's comic fanzine Once Upon a Dime. His first book, I Was Flesh Gordon, is available from McFarland Press (and at BayCon - just ask). He also occasionally performs as bad horror film host Mister Macabre, originally created for the webseries The Next Door Horror.
