“Golden Threads” Linking the Generations: American Jews and Their Ethical Wills

What:
Workshop
When:
10:00 AM, Sunday 18 Mar 2018 (1 hour 30 minutes)
Where:
Hotel Irvine - Trabuco A & B
How:
For generations, Jews have left their moral legacies in written form often called an ethical will. From their earliest days on this continent, American Jews have written ethical wills which express the values they hold dear. Zola will bring us a selection of remarkable ethical wills, and he will help us to explore their moving contents. Finally, we will be considering the moral lessons that we ourselves would want to bequeath to the next generation. Attendees will receive a teaching packet with the primary source documents that will be examined during the session.
