The late-twentieth and twenty-first centuries have produced many novel forms of Jewish practice and identity--only to be matched by the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries in their diversity and creativity. In this session, we will explore how early modern innovations anticipate and can help us contextualize contemporary phenomena.
