Dr. Amichai Magen serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy and Head of the Governance & Political Violence Program at the Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT), both at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), Herzliya. He is also a Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University.
Dr. Magen’s research and teaching interests include: Sovereignty, Democracy, and the Rule of Law; Governance in Areas of Limited Statehood; Political Violence; EU External Relations and EU-Israel Relations.
Amichai Magen received the Yitzhak Rabin Fulbright Award (2003) and was the first Israeli to be awarded the prestigious National Fellow Award at the Hoover Institution (2008). In 2016 he was named Richard von Weizsäcker Fellow, the most prestigious fellowship of the Robert Bosch Academy, awarded to distinguished decision-makers and opinion leaders from around the world.
