Heba is a LEAD and EAL high school teacher committed to supporting newcomer students on their educational journeys. She believes experiential learning is essential for EAL students, as it fosters academic growth, social integration, and a deeper connection to their new communities. Heba views experiential learning as an extension of the classroom, helping students build confidence, adapt to their surroundings, and gain authentic opportunities to enhance their literacy and numeracy skills. A strong advocate for culturally responsive teaching, she tailors her instruction to honor the diverse backgrounds of her students, empowering them to thrive both academically and socially. Heba looks forward to sharing her insights and strategies at this year's conference, hoping to inspire fellow educators to embrace experiential learning in their EAL classrooms. Outside of school, she enjoys nurturing her indoor plant collection, discovering new walking spots, exploring different cuisines, and planning her next adventure.
