Anita is a visual arts educator, educational researcher, and graduate student at the Werklund School of Education currently pursuing her MA in Learning Sciences. Her particular interests are in the field of arts-integration, engaged pedagogy, and land-based learning. Under the supervision of Dr. Miwa Takeuchi, she is researching the arts as critical transdisciplinary pedagogy to establish how the arts awaken critical consciousness. Anita is a mother to three beautiful children who strongly advocates for poverty alleviation efforts by working as a volunteer grant writer and Branch Manager for the national charity, Mamas for Mamas.
