What is learning in relation? How does it connect to Indigenous education and to Indigenous art? If you are curious to experience the power of walking alongside an Indigenous artist then this session is for you! Rick Wolcott and Vanessa Munroe work together in this hands-on workshop to share their love and knowledge of Coast Salish carving. In this session, Rick and Vanessa enact Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing while teaching participants to carve their very own cedar feather board. All educators are welcome! Please note that there is a small fee of $35 for learning materials. Please bring a sketchbook or notepad, pencil and any other creative supplies you may want to use.
