
Sana Waseem (she/her) is an award-winning educator with over 14 years of experience. She currently works as a grade 7 teacher and learning leader, serves on many ATA committees including the ATN, and is working on her doctoral degree focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational leadership. Sana’s dedication to promoting diversity is unwavering. Being a woman of colour who has lived in Africa, Pakistan, and Canada, Sana understands nuanced intersectional biases and barriers that exist within systems, and tries to address these whenever she can. In her own time, Sana spends time with her family and beloved dog, volunteers, reads, travels, and engages in many arts & crafts including the art of henna which Sana uses regularly to introduce diversity into different spaces in a fun and healing way.
