Prof. Jodi Nickel PhD

Professor - Department of Education
20
Participates in 1 Session

Jodi taught grade 1 and 2 in Regina, Saskatchewan before completing her Masters and PhD. She now teaches preservice teachers at Mount Royal University. Her favourite courses to teach are Language Development and Literacy and Teaching Language Arts. Jodi has been researching teacher candidates’ learning through literacy tutoring; one-to-one and small group tutoring provides teacher candidates with the opportunity to apply course content in a classroom setting, and to differentiate for the needs of specific students. This tutoring research led to the development of the MRUreads.ca website to support the work of teacher candidates and community members. This website was co-developed with Eryn Coughlin and mirrors UFLI resources.
