Ever since the new curriculum for Grade 3 was put into effect teachers have been looking for ways to engage students with meaningful practice activities multiplication concepts including facts up to 10X10 and place value concepts that now include whole numbers to 100,000. Come prepared to play our favorite games for practicing basic multiplication and learn strategies for commutative property, square facts, arrays, patterns and skip counting. Place value concepts will include work on whole numbers to 100000, comparing numbers, composing/decomposing, rounding and expanding numbers, working with patterns on number lines. Handout will contain gameboards, concept skill checklists for assessment, summary of strategies for student mini books. This is a fast paced workshop that will provide you with many differentiated activities to help build success in these critical two areas of the math Grade 3 program. If you have upper elementary still struggling and experiencing gaps, this workshop will provide remedial practice ideas and strategies.
