John Wasch is the Director of Catholicity for the Calgary Catholic School District. For the past 29 years, he has served as a teacher and administrator at the school and district level. John currently serves on the Council of Catholic School Superintendents of Alberta Board of Directors as the representative for the Catholic schools in the Diocese of Calgary. In a blog article for the Alberta Catholic School Trustees’ Association in 2023, he shared and reflected on his experience overseeing the community service learning taking place in his Catholic school division: "Engaging in service learning is an opportunity to provide real-life experiences grounded in Catholic social teaching. It gives our students (and staff) opportunities to demonstrate respect for the inherent dignity and worth of human beings, a preferential option for the poor, and active community participation." John is a parishioner and choir member at Holy Spirit Parish and part-time farmer.
