Fatima has been involved in martial arts for over 15 years, training Brazilian jiujitsu for the last 8. She currently competes in tournaments all over the world and represented Canada at the AbuDhabi World Pro last year. Fatima has been a teacher with the CBE since 2015, initially as a math teacher, but has transitioned to the Physed department for the last 4 years. As an educator, Fatima was able to use her skills to create Western Canada Women's Jiujitsu, a female tournament, with hopes of getting more women into competitive sport. Her intention for teachers' convention is to introduce her passion to educators across the board and expose them to new ways to relieve stress and balance their wellness during the school year in a fun way.
