Joy Bader has been teaching for more than 30 years. The last 23 years have been with the Calgary Board of Education in Science at both Junior High and High School. She is currently and Assistant Principal at Lester B. Pearson High School. Joy believes that hands on, inquiry-based, authentic learning is critical to a Science environment and that building strong relationships with students is a key factor in student engagement. She is a strong proponent of collaborative learning environments not only for students, but for teachers as well, in order to achieve greater success for all.

Michael Kusugak is a natural storyteller who has an easy rapport with audiences. He uses personal anecdotes of living in the Canadian Arctic and incorporates traditional spirit creatures into his stories to draw out lessons for modern life.
