Theresa Pinhey is an independent animator and instructor from Calgary, Alberta. She started animating as a student of Quickdraw Animation Society in 2003, graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelors of Fine Arts: New Media in 2014, and lived in Yamanashi, Japan from 2016-2019 as a high-school English teacher. Once returning from Japan, she reached out to Quickdraw yet again and has been teaching with their Portable Animation Workshops, their youth classes, and as their Outreach and Education Coordinator since. She loves to play video games, knit and crochet, and snowboard. Quickdraw Animation Society is a member driven not-for-profit that fosters a creative community through resources and opportunities that further animation arts and culture. Located in our studios in Sunalta, Calgary, we promote the art of animation through courses, workshops, screenings, and production resources. Quickdraw is also the home of the largest animation library in Western Canada, an Oxberry animation stand, and a brand-new Animator Cube studio for every stop-motion animation need.
